GM/AVP- Logistics Head- Steel Plant 
 

Experience: Min 10-15 Years
 

Qualification: Bachelor / Master Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain Management / BBA / MBA

 

Key Responsibilities:
 

Inbound Logistics, Outbound Logistics, Rail Management, Port Management (Export & Import), Road Management

 

Leadership & Team Management:
 

Lead and mentor the logistics team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
 

Ensure alignment across logistics teams, optimizing performance, and achieving key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics efficiency, cost control, and service quality.
 

Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Procurement, Sales, Production) to ensure a cohesive approach to logistics and supply chain management.

 

Strategy & Planning:
 

Develop and execute long-term logistics strategies in alignment with company objectives and market demands.
 

Identify and leverage technological solutions to enhance logistics operations and improve cost-efficiency.
 

Manage logistics budgets, track expenditure, and continuously look for ways to optimize cost savings while maintaining service levels.

 

Compliance & Risk Management:
 

Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, environmental, and safety regulations for inbound, outbound, rail, port, and road logistics.
 

Monitor the logistics operations for risk factors and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions or delays.
 

Implement industry best practices and performance metrics to ensure continuous operational improvements.

 

Qualification:
 

Education: Bachelor degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master degree is highly desirable.
 

Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position overseeing multiple transportation modes.

 

Technical Skills:
 

Expertise in managing transportation across rail, port (export and import), and road.
 

Familiarity with logistics software such as TMS, WMS, and ERP systems.
 

Strong understanding of customs, international trade laws, and regulatory compliance.

 

Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence.
 

Analytical Skills: Proficiency in logistics data analysis and performance metrics to drive decisions and continuous improvement.
