Role & responsibilities :

 

1. Quality Control & Laboratory Operations

 

Ensure timely and accurate testing of limestone, clinker, gypsum, fly ash, slag, and cement.
 

Monitor chemical parameters such as LSF, SM, AM, free lime, LOI, and other key quality indices.
 

Ensure compliance with BIS/IS standards and internal quality norms.
 

Maintain calibration and proper functioning of laboratory instruments (XRF, XRD, sieve shakers, balances, etc.).
 

Oversee sample preparation, testing frequency, and result validation.

 

2. Process & Product Quality Monitoring

 

Coordinate with Process and Production teams for quality stabilization and improvement.
 

Analyze trends and deviations in raw mix, clinker, and cement quality.
 

Recommend corrective and preventive actions for quality deviations.
 

Support process optimization initiatives to improve consistency and reduce quality-related losses.
 

 

3. Team Leadership & Supervision

 

Lead and guide chemists, analysts, and lab assistants.
 

Allocate duties, monitor performance, and ensure discipline within the QC team.
 

Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to junior staff.
 

Ensure adherence to safety, housekeeping, and laboratory best practices.
 

 

4. Documentation, MIS & Compliance

 

Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly QC reports and MIS.
 

Maintain laboratory records, test registers, calibration logs, and SOPs.
 

Support internal and external audits related to quality and certification.
 

Ensure traceability and document control as per audit requirements.
 

 

5. Coordination & Communication

 

Act as a key interface between Quality Control, Production, Process, and Maintenance teams.
 

Communicate quality issues, trends, and improvement actions to plant management.
 

Support Plant Head and QC Head with data-driven insights and reports.
