Monitor process parameters such as temperature, pressure, feed rate, airflow, and power consumption.
Maintain stable kiln operation to achieve targeted clinker production and quality.
Optimize mill operations for desired output and fineness.
Ensure smooth start-up and shutdown of plant sections as per SOPs.
2. Process Monitoring & Optimization
Continuously analyze trends and alarms on control systems.
Adjust process parameters to maintain production targets and reduce specific heat & power consumption.
Coordinate with field operators to rectify process deviations.
Take corrective actions during process disturbances (coating collapse, kiln trips, blockages, etc.).
3. Quality Control Support
Maintain process parameters to achieve desired clinker and cement quality.
Coordinate with the Quality/QA Lab for sample results and make necessary adjustments.
Control raw mix proportioning as per quality norms.
4. Equipment Safety & Protection
Ensure all interlocks and safety systems are functioning.
Avoid equipment overloading and unsafe operations.
Report any abnormal sound, vibration, or parameter variation immediately.
5. Coordination & Communication
Maintain constant communication with field operators, maintenance team, and shift in-charge.
Guide field staff during breakdowns and process upsets.
Record shift activities and important observations in log sheets.
6. Breakdown & Emergency Handling
Take quick decisions during equipment failure or power tripping.
Follow emergency procedures during kiln trips, fire, or system failure.
Support maintenance team during troubleshooting.
