Job Purpose:
To manage and coordinate all logistics operations related to the inbound and outbound movement of raw materials, clinker, cement, packaging materials, and other inputs for the Cement Grinding Unit. Ensures timely delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Inbound Logistics:
Plan and coordinate the transport of raw materials (e.g., clinker, gypsum, fly ash) to the grinding unit.
Monitor supplier schedules and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Coordinate with procurement and vendors for logistics arrangements.
Outbound Logistics:
Ensure smooth dispatch of finished cement to customers, depots, or distributors.
Manage fleet scheduling, route planning, and loading operations.
Coordinate with sales and customer service teams for delivery planning.
Inventory & Documentation:
Monitor stock levels of raw materials and finished goods.
Maintain accurate records of material movement and transport documentation (invoices, gate passes, weighbridge slips, etc.).
Ensure compliance with statutory and internal documentation processes.
Vendor Management:
Liaise with transporters and logistics service providers to negotiate rates and manage contracts.
Monitor transporter performance and ensure adherence to safety and delivery norms.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure logistics operations comply with safety, legal, and environmental regulations.
Implement best practices for efficient and safe transport.
Cost Optimization:
Identify cost-saving opportunities in transportation and logistics.
Monitor logistics expenses and contribute to budgeting and cost control efforts.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong understanding of cement industry logistics (especially grinding units)
Knowledge of SAP.
Route planning and fleet management experience
Strong communication and coordination skills
Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
Familiarity with weighbridge operations and documentation
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
3–5 years of experience in logistics operations, preferably in the cement or construction materials industry
