Job Required:
You will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of all instrumentation and control systems in the cement plant. This role requires ensuring the smooth operation and optimization of the plant’s instrumentation and control systems while adhering to safety, quality, and environmental standards. The candidate will also be integral in managing instrumentation aspects during new project execution and in ongoing plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Phase: Design & Engineering:
Lead the instrumentation design and engineering for new cement plant projects.
Work closely with design consultants, vendors, and internal teams to ensure effective design and integration of instrumentation systems.
Review and approve all instrumentation and control system designs, specifications, and drawings.
Project Execution:
Supervise the installation, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation systems and equipment.
Manage instrumentation contractors to ensure project milestones, quality standards, and budgets are met.
Ensure that all instrumentation systems are compliant with local and international standards, particularly safety and environmental regulations.
Vendor Management:
Evaluate and select vendors for instrumentation equipment and services.
Oversee procurement, negotiation, and contract management for instrumentation materials.
Monitor vendor performance and manage any issues that may arise during the project phase.
Testing & Commissioning:
Develop and implement comprehensive testing and calibration protocols for instrumentation systems.
Ensure all systems are fully tested, calibrated, and commissioned before plant startup.
Address and resolve any issues during the commissioning phase to ensure operational readiness.
Operational Phase: Plant Operations:
Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all instrumentation and control systems in the cement plant.
Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of instrumentation systems to support efficient plant operations.
Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all instrumentation operations adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and safety checks on all instrumentation systems.
Lead initiatives to enhance instrumentation safety and reduce risks associated with plant operations.
Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of instrumentation engineers and technicians.
Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the technical skills and knowledge of the team.
Foster effective communication and collaboration between the instrumentation team and other departments.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance instrumentation system efficiency, reliability, and accuracy.
Implement advanced technologies and automation solutions to improve process control and reduce operational costs.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technological advancements in instrumentation and control.
Key Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, with at least 5 years in a managerial role within a cement plant or similar heavy industry.
Proven experience in managing instrumentation systems during both project execution and operational phases.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems design, installation, and maintenance.
Expertise in control systems, PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and other automation technologies.
Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISA, IEC) and safety regulations.
Leadership Skills:
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with advanced process control systems and automation in the cement industry.
Certification in project management (PMP or equivalent).
Master’s degree in Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
Education:
B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics/Telecommunication, Instrumentation, Diploma in Electronics/Telecommunication
