Job Purpose:

 

Assist the plant management to create safe working environment through implementation of group safety guidelines / standards and by ensuring compliance of all statutory requirement with respect to safety.
 

Assist the plant management to ensure compliance of all statutory as well as group requirement with respect to Environment.
 

Job Description –
 

Create safe working environment to achieve zero harm.
 

Implementation of group guideline/standards & cardinal norms at site.
 

 Prepare / Review & Implementation of PTWs, SOPs & Risk assessment. Tracking & monitoring its implementation at the site non-routine activities, break down / shut down activities to identify unsafe act, unsafe conditions, practices and procedures by workers and to render advice on

measures to be adopted for rectification of the unsafe physical conditions and preventing unsafe actions by workers.
 

Carrying out Monthly Safety inspections along with Plant Head & all HOD'S in specific critical areas. Record the Observations with Target date & responsible person for action. It should be Reviewed in plant Monthly Safety Committee Meeting
 

Carrying out daily plant safety inspection to identify and correct potential unsafe behaviors of workforce by safety conversation using global AID tool.
 

Coordinate IMS activities & its implementation at site.
 

Ensuring that the actions for the implementation of Group "Clean site/ safe site" initiative 
 

Conduct Safety audit of statutory compliance as per the requirement of Factory Act 1948 & advise concern to fulfil the gaps within time frame.
 

Investigate all Near miss incidents, accidents and dangerous occurrences and take appropriate corrective and prevention actions. 
 

Organize shop floor training, training on monthly theme / Training Calendar & workshop on PTW, risk assessment 
 

Organize daily Safety gate meeting 
 

Safety Display such as posters, banners & informatory boards, pictures etc.

 

Languages: Adequate Knowledge of Tamil & English Language (Speak & Write).
 

Skills & Capabilities - Communication Skill, Leadership Skill, Analytical Skill, Presentation Skill, Networking Skill.

 

Qualification: 

 

BE / B. Tech / Diploma in Engineering / One Year Full Time Diploma in Safety (PDIS, ADIS) approved by Directorate of Factories, Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
