Key Skill:
Experience in procurement, ideally within the cement, mining, or heavy industrial sectors.
Familiarity with cement plant machinery and equipment (e.g., crushers, kilns, conveyors).
Strong analytical skills with attention to cost efficiency, quality standards, and risk assessment.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with SAP.
Ability to address procurement issues quickly and effectively to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and source required materials, machinery, and services to support plant operations.
Ensure competitive pricing and quality standards by conducting market research and benchmarking.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any issues related to delays, quality, or pricing.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and overall fit with plant needs.
Regularly assess supplier performance and negotiate contracts to ensure alignment with plant objectives.
Draft, review, and manage purchase orders, contracts, and agreements in compliance with company policies.
Negotiate terms, prices, and conditions with suppliers to optimize cost and quality.
Monitor procurement expenses and align with plant budget and cost objectives.
Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or operational efficiency.
Ensure all purchased materials and equipment meet specified quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with plant engineers, maintenance teams, and other departments to understand and forecast procurement needs.
Ensure seamless communication between suppliers and plant teams for timely and efficient fulfillment of requirements.
Identify potential supply chain risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations related to procurement and materials handling.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
