Job Description:

 

Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses to fabricate metal parts. 

 

Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders to understand specifications and requirements. 

 

Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to achieve desired results. 

 

Perform precision measurements using various measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. 

 

Maintain and troubleshoot machine tools to ensure optimal performance. 

 

Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. 

 

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

 

ITI Machinist or Fitter 

 

5+ years of experience as a Machinist. 

 

Strong understanding of machining principles and practices. 

 

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. 

 

Proficiency in using a variety of machine tools. 

 

Ability to perform precision measurements. 

 

Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 

 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

 

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

 

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

 

Associates degree or technical certification in machining. 

 

Experience with CNC machining. 

 

Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
